A girl was allegedly raped by two youths in the capital’s Moghbazar area on Friday night.
The 18-year-old girl was admitted to One-stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Police were yet to arrest the youths – Shawon and Niloy – who allegedly raped her and locate the place of occurrence.
The girl completed Higher Secondary Examination from Jamalpur and came to Dhaka for university admission coaching.
She was living in a mess at Mauchak.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner for Media and Public Relation Muntasirul Islam said Shawon, a friend of the girl, asked her to meet him for coaching materials on Friday afternoon.
When she went there Shawon took her into a room of a hotel where his friend Niloy was already waiting.
They forcibly raped her there.
The girl informed the matter to her parents who, later, came to Dhaka and brought the incident to the notice of Ramna police station.
Police sent her to the One-stop Crisis Centre of the DMCH for medical test.
Shawon was student of BBA at Tejgaon College, said police quoting the victim.
Muntasirul said the victim alleged that she was taken to a hotel having an elevator but they did not find any residential hotel with a lift.
Police were investigating the matter and trying to locate the place of occurrence, he added.
