Son of Khulna City Corporation Ward 2 Councilor has been shot dead by unidentified assailants at Notunrasta crossing.
Nazrul Islam Nazu, 31, is the son of BNP-backed Ward 2 Councilor Shahida Begum. His father is the President of Khulna Baby-taxi Driver's Union.
Daulatpur OC MD Shafiqul Islam said: “The assailants shot Nazu on the left side of his head leaving him dead on the spot.”
He said the body was kept at Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.
Khulna Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Special Branch ADC Sheikh Moniruzzaman Mithu said: “A pistol, three rounds of bullets and a magazine were found around Nazu's waist.”
