In a bid to conserve energy and electricity amid the global economic situation, the High Court Division of the Supreme Court will conduct virtual court proceedings two days a week.
A notification issued on Sunday by the administration wing of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court confirmed the decision.
The notification said that, in consideration of the global economic situation and to ensure energy and electricity savings, an initiative has been taken to conduct virtual court proceedings in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court twice a week using information technology, in Courts Act, 2020 (Act No. 11 of 2020) and the practice directions issued by the Court.
