Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed on Wednesday said that the establishment of the Supreme Court Secretariat is making significant progress.
The chief justice made the comment while speaking to the media after inspecting the newly renovated facilities at both the Supreme Court's main building and the Annex Building earlier in the morning.
Following the inspection, he visited the Supreme Court Reporters' Forum room, where he commended the contributions of journalists in advancing his judicial roadmap.
As part of a pilot project, separate toilets have been constructed at two designated locations in the Supreme Court for men, women, and individuals with special needs.
The chief justice announced plans to expand this initiative to other courts across the country.
He emphasized that the project is a crucial step in fulfilling social responsibility, highlighting its humanitarian and inclusive nature, as stated in an apex court notification.
He also expressed gratitude to Brac for its role in implementing the project.
Brac Executive Director Asif Saleh, Supreme Court Registrar General Dr Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, Appellate Division Registrar Md Hasanuzzaman, High Court Division Registrar Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee, and Special Officer Moazzem Hossain were present on the occasion, among others.
