A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on eight former ministers and six former members of parliament from the Awami League government.
This order was given by Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad As Sams Jaglul Hossain on Thursday in response to a request from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Mahmud Hossain Jahangir, the ACC's public prosecutor, confirmed the matter.
The former ministers are- former Health Minister Zahid Maleque, former Social Welfare Minister Dr Dipu Moni, former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, former Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumdar, former Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, former State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, former Minister Shajahan Khan, and former Minister Kamrul Islam.
Additionally, the court has imposed a travel ban on former MPs Solim Uddin, Mamunur Rashid Kiran, Kujendra Lal Tripura, Kazim Uddin, Nurul Alam Chowdhury, and Ziaur Rahman.
