A case has been filed against unidentified students for allegedly attacking journalists amid the ongoing protest demanding cancelling the quota system in government jobs and reinstating the 2018 circular.

Syed Asaduzzaman, senior manager of human resources and administration at Shomoy Television, lodged the complaint at the Shahbagh police station Saturday night.

Shahbagh police station Inspector (Operation) Md Arshad Hossain confirmed the information.

According to the case documents, on Thursday at around 6:20pm, two Shomoy journalists were verbally abused by the protesters, who said: "Grab the Shomoy TV camera." The protesters then started hurling large brick chips at the journalists, one of which struck one journalist's left hand.

The complaint further says that the protesters attempted to snatch the camera and live broadcasting equipment.
