A Cox’s Bazar court has placed 22 Myanmar armed nationals, who entered Bangladesh illegally with weapons amid clashes between the military and the armed rebel group Arakan Army, on a three-day remand for entering Bangladesh.

Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-1 Sreegyan Tanchangya passed the order on Monday, Nasir Uddin Majumder, investigation officer of the case and officer-in-charge (investigation) of Ukhiya police station, confirmed the matter.

One of the 23 Myanmar nationals who were arrested, was not brought to court as he was ill.

Earlier, police sought a 10-day remand for 23 Myanmar nationals in a case filed by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

They were arrested from the Palongkhali border in Ukhiya upazila.

Earlier, authorities said some armed individuals infiltrated through the border on Tuesday.

Local representatives and locals detained them and handed them over to the police.

However, it has been confirmed from multiple sources that some terrorists from the group led by the Rohingya terrorist Nabi Hossain have entered the Rohingya camps.
