A Dhaka court has ordered Manzoor Alam Shikdar, chairman of the e-commerce site Alesha Mart, to be sent to jail in nine different cases filed with Gulshan and Banani police stations on charges of cheque forgery.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury's court passed the order after a hearing on Sunday.
Prior to this, the police presented the accused before the court and requested he be kept in custody.
The police arrested Manzoor Alam Shikdar in Banani on Saturday.
On July 26, 2020, Alesha Mart received registration from the Department of Joint Venture Companies and Firms. The company took a trade licence from Dhaka North City Corporation on November 10, 2020.
It officially launched later on January 7, 2021.
