The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday upheld a High Court order, granting a six-month bail to Destiny Group President Lt Gen (retd) Harun-Ar-Rashid, in a money embezzlement and laundering case.
Justice M Enayetur Rahim of the Appellate Division Chamber Judge court passed the order after holding a hearing on a plea filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), challenging the August 30 High Court order.
The High Court had passed the order after going through the medical reports of the former army chief.
On June 9, the High Court accepted his appeal against the lower court judgment that had sentenced him to four years imprisonment and fined Tk1.50 crore in the case.
It also called for the paper book of the case.
Dhaka Special Judge's Court-4 came up with the judgment on May 12, 2022.
