Four Ashulia militants put on 4-day remand

A Dhaka court on Monday placed four suspected militants, who surrendered to members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during an anti-militant drive in Ashulia on Sunday, on a four-day remand. Senior Judicial Magistrate Fairuz Tasnim passed the order when Unu Mong, senior assistant police superintendent of RAB 4 and also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for each. The four suspected militants--Mozammel Haq, Rashedun Nabi, Erfan Ul Haq and Mohammd Alamgir Hosain--were remanded in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act on April 27 with Savar police station. On April, 27, police arrested three suspected members of JMB along with explosive materials during an anti-militant drive at Rajphulbaria Bus Stand in Savar. On Sunday, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in an anti-militant raid on a hideout at Chakalgram-Chourapara in Ashulia , arrested the four suspected militants, aged between 20 and 22, following their surrender to the elite force. Later they were shown arrested in the case filed with Savar police station on April 27.
