A Dhaka court on Tuesday set May 12 for holding the hearing on the indictment in a case lodged under the Narcotics Control Act against actor Pori Moni and two others.
The two other accused in the case are Ashraful Islam Dipu and Kabir Chowdhury.
The hearing was supposed to be held on Tuesday, but Judge Nazrul Islam of Dhaka’s 10th Special Judge Court reset the date as the prime accused, Pori Moni, had failed to appear in court because of her "poor health".
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Pori Moni on August 4 from her Banani flat and seized huge amounts of foreign liquor and different drugs from there.
According to the chargesheet of the case, there were no valid documents for the drugs seized from her house.
She had collected illegal drugs from different places through the two other accused and kept them at home. The actor could not give a satisfactory answer when asked about the drugs.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayesh on August 31 granted bail to Pori Moni in the case and she was finally released from jail the next day.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on October 4 filed the chargesheet in the case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court on November 15 accepted the chargesheet filed in the case and transferred it to Dhaka’s 10th Special Judge Court for further proceedings.
