A Narail court on Monday sentenced a woman to life imprisonment until death in a case filed seven years ago for possessing drugs.
The convict, Ahida Begum, was also fined Tk50,000.
The court acquitted four others as allegations brought against them could not be proved.
According to the prosecution, a team of DB police arrested five people along with 100 grams of heroin from a private car going to Narail from Jessore on Jessore-Narail Road at Sitarampur in Sadar upazila on October 13, 2015.
After examining records and witnesses, Narail District and Session Judge Munshi Md Mashier Rahman handed down the verdict on Monday.
