A Cox's Bazar court sent four policemen, accused in the murder case of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan, to jail after recording their confessional statements.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah recorded their statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure after they were brought in on Wednesday morning, said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) official Major Mehedi Hasan.
Earlier in the day, suspended Sub-Inspector (SI) Liton Mia, Constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain and Abdullah Al Mamun were produced before the court by a RAB team after their second round of remand, said Mehedi, the deputy commander of RAB 15 in Cox's Bazar.
“On August 24, the court had granted a four-day remand in the second phase for the four policemen accused in the murder case for further questioning.

“Following the court order, RAB started questioning them for the second time on September 6,” Major Mehedi said.
Earlier, removed Teknaf police station OC Pradeep Kumar Das, suspended Inspector Liakat Ali and SI Nanda Dulal Rakkhit were remanded in the same case.
Among them, Pradeep was remanded for 15 days in four phases and the other two for 14 days in three phases.
Although Liakat and Dulal confessed in court, Pradeep did not. All of them are currently behind bars.
So far, eight people, including three members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn), have given confessional statements in the murder case.
On the night of July 31, Sinha was shot dead by police at the Shamlapur check-post in Baharchhara union of Teknaf.
On August 5, Sinha’s sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed the murder case accusing nine people, including Pradeep, Liakat, Dulal, and Tutul, Liton, Safanur, Kamal, Mamun, and Md Mostafa.
