The subordinate courts across Bangladesh have virtually granted bail to 67,229 people in the last 50 working days, from May 11 to July 23.
The Supreme Court administration disclosed the information through a press release on Sunday.
Moreover, the courts have disposed of 136,399 bail petitions in the same time period, the release added.
The press release also said in this time period, the courts have virtually granted bail to 755 juveniles, and 746 of them were handed over to their guardians. At least 870 adolescents are currently residing at the three Juvenile Development Centers.
From May 12 to July 23, 508 children were sent to these three Juvenile Development Centers across the country, said the press release.
The subordinate courts also disposed of 4,310 petitions for bail on surrender, granted bail to 11,796 people and sent 938 accused to prison in last week (July 19-23), it added.
