A Dhaka court has placed seven Regent Hospital staff on a five days remand in a case filed on charges of allegations of issuing fake Covid-19 certificates.
Another accused who is a minor has been sent to a juvenile correction centre.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shadbir Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order at 3pm Wednesday after Inspector Md Alamgir Gazi, of Uttara East police station and also investigating officer of this case produced the accused before the court seeking a seven-day remand for interrogation.

The remanded accused are -- Md Ahasan Habib, admin officer of Regent hospital, Md Ahsan Habib Hasan, X-ray technician of Regent Hospital, Hatim Ali, medical technologist, Rakibul Islam Sumon, project admin of Regent head office, Amit Banik, HR admin manager of Regent head office, Abdus Salam, driver of regent head office, and Abdur Rashid Khan, executive officer of Regent head officer.
The accused Kamrul Islam, a minor, has been produced in front of a juvenile court which sent him to a juvenile correction centre.
On June 6, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted raids at the Uttara and Mirpur branches of the Regent Hospital in Dhaka on complaints that the hospital was issuing fake Covid-19 certificates, charging exorbitant fees for Covid-19 testing and treatment of inpatients.
