A judicial probe committee report said that, the Dhaka north and south city corporations were partly blamed for the dengue outbreak in the capital last year.
The probe body was led by Dhaka District Judge MD Helal Chowdhury, following a directive passed by the High Court on November 12, 2019.
The Deputy Attorney General Amit Das Gupta confirmed that they received the probe committee report on Monday and will submit the report when the matter comes to the cause list for hearing.
The report said, the probe committee found negligence on the part of both the city corporations over dengue outbreak in the capital last year, however, no city corporation is solely to blame for the outbreak.
Apart from this, the report could not determine negligence of any single individual behind the outbreak.
On November 12 last year, the High Court formed a probe committee headed by a judge of Dhaka District and Sessions Judge Court to investigate whether there was any failure or negligence in containing mosquito-borne diseases like dengue.
The bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir Lytton passed the order and asked the committee to submit a report before the court.
The court also asked the committee members to take assistance from icddr,b, Dhaka University and Jahangirnagar University.
On August 28, the High Court ordered the government to inform it about how far the measures to control the spread of dengue had progressed.
The city corporations sought more time from the court to file the report.
On July 4, the court on its own volition issued a rule ordering to take steps within 24 hours to control the spread of vector borne mosquitoes responsible for diseases like dengue and Chikungunya.
