Health officials on Sunday said they recorded 28 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded 28 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am on Sunday," a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
"Out of the 28 fresh cases, 12 were hospitalized in Barishal division, seven in Chittagong division, four in Dhaka division, two in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), one in Khulna division and two in Rajshahi division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of this year’s dengue outbreak in Bangladesh, four people have died and 2,403 others have been infected.
The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.
Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
