A Dhaka court has set March 10 to submit probe report in a case lodged against 23 persons over alleged forgery in the design of FR Tower of Dhaka’s Banani area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayes then set the new date on Tuesday, as the investigation officer (IO) and Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique failed to submit the report on the day, reports BSS.
A total of 27 people were killed and 70 others were injured in a devastating fire that engulfed the building on March 28, 2019.
The matter of design forgery came into light as concerned officials were probing the fire incident.
ACC filed two cases against 23 people, including plot owners Engineer SMHI Faruk, one of the owners of the building Tasvir Ul Islam, for their alleged involvement in design forgery and illegally extending FR Tower beyond the permitted number of floors.
