A gang rape suspect has given his confessional statement before a Sirajganj court in a case filed for raping a nurse in the Kutirchar village of Sirajganj's Kamarkhand upazila.
The court of Judge Md Asaduzzaman recorded the statements of the accused Ashraful Islam and the woman on Tuesday afternoon.
The case investigation officer Inspector Palash Chandra Deb of Kamarkhand police station confirmed the matter.
According to the case filed by the woman's brother, Ashraful promised to marry the woman and invited her to Sirajganj. When the woman visited Ashraful, he took her to an unoccupied place and gang-raped her with four others.
Police has yet arrested Ashraful and Moinul Hoque in connection with the rape.
