The Supreme Court has disposed of the appeals filed by the government against the High Court bail orders for BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and others, in separate cases.
A seven-member bench of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, headed by chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, has disposed of the appeal petitions on Thursday.
When asked whether the apex court scrapped or upheld the HC bail orders, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said: "It will be disclosed in full verdict with observation."
Separate cases were filed against Mirza Fakhrul Islam and other BNP leaders with several police stations over various allegations including arson attack on vehicles, provocative statements against the government and obstructing police from discharging their duties.

Later, they secured bail from High Court at different times and the state filed appeals against those bail orders.
The other BNP leaders include: Professor Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan, Advocate Shakawat Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barkat Ullah Bulu, Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Advocate Khandker Mahbub Hossain, Haji Salahuddin Ahmed , Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu, Md Shahjahan and Md. Aminur Rahman.
Appeals against Barrister Mainul Hosein and Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury's bail order also disposed of the same order.
