The Supreme Court administration has sent a letter to the government asking them to ensure security at every court in the country.
The letter, signed by High Court Division Registrar Abu Syed Diljar Hussain, was issued on March 23 and sent to the authorities concerned yesterday, said Additional Registrar (administration and judicial) Md Sabbir Faiz.
He said copies of the letter have been sent to the secretary to the Cabinet Division, the prime minister's principal secretary, the home secretary, secretaries to the Law Ministry, the inspector general of police, the director general of RAB, lower courts' judges and others.
The letter stated the chief justice's concern over the security of lower courts' judges, staffs and people related to the courts as several criminal activities were taking place in the country.
The letter also pointed out that government high officials were notified of the security concerns earlier, and they had assured that necessary steps would be taken to provide maximum security.
Recently, Supreme Court authorities requested the government to take necessary steps and deploy law enforcement agencies to provide security at every court premises, courtrooms, judges' residences, judges and staffs.
