The High Court summoned Green Line Paribahan’s manager to appear before it in order to place his explanation as to why the company did not pay compensation to Russel Sharkar.
The High Court bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Quader passed the order after Rasel’s lawyer Shamsul Haque Reza informed the court that Greeen Line Paribahan has not complied with the High Court's order on Thursday morning.
Green Line Paribahan Manager Abdus Sattar informed the High Court that owner of the Green Line Paribahan is in India for medical treatment.
"He will return to Bangladesh on April 9," the manager said.
The bench also said if the transport company failed to pay the compensation within April 10, then it would have to stop selling tickets from April 11 onwards.
Expressing anger and dissatisfaction about the Green Line Paribahan authorities, the High Court said no matter how big of a businessman one is, or even how big of a corporation one operates, no one is above the law.
Adding to which the court stated that all Green Line buses will be auctioned and sold and the money collected from that will be provided to the victim, Rasel, as compensation.
Rasel was present at the court during the hearing along with his wife and two kids.
Previously on March 31, a four-member bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain ordered the Green Line Paribahan to pay Tk50 lakh to Russel, as compensation, by Wednesday, while giving a hearing on an appeal filed by Green Line.

And earlier on March 12, the High Court ordered Green Line to pay compensation to Rasel Sarkar within 14 days.
On May 14 last year, the High Court issued a ruling asking why private car driver Rasel, 23, should not get Tk1 crore as compensation.
Green Line was asked to respond to the ruling within four weeks.
On April 28 that year, a luxury Green Line coach rear-ended the car Rasel was driving. The accident occurred on the slope of Mayor Md Hanif Flyover in Dholaipar, and caused Rasel to step outside of his car to assess the damage.
Although he signaled the bus not to drive away, bus driver Kabir Hossain, in his attempt to flee the scene, ran over Rasel, severing his left leg from the thigh down in the process.
After being informed, police impounded the bus and detained Kabir from near the National Press Club.
