Two teens killed as bus hits motorcycle on Dhaka-Bhanga expressway

A Dhaka-bound Golden Line bus hit a motorcycle crossing an underpass at Bhanga Interchange on its way to Faridpur

Two teenagers were killed when a bus hit their motorcycle on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway near an underpass in the Bhanga Interchange area of Faridpur district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Kawsar Ahmed Ratul, 17, son of Shahadat Sardar of Jandi village and Raju Matubbar, 18, son of Kawsar Matubbar of Fukurhati village in Bhanga upazila.

The accident occurred near an underpass at the Bhanga Interchange when a Faridpur-bound ‘Golden Line’ bus from Dhaka hit the motorcycle while it was crossing the underpass, leaving the two teenagers injured, said Md Sohel, sub-inspector of Bhanga Highway Police.

The injured were taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Dhaka for better treatment. Later, they died on the way to Dhaka.

The bodies were handed over to the families after autopsies, SI Sohel said.

Police are trying to seize the bus, he added.
