The directive was made after a writ petition was filed by two Supreme Court lawyers Abdullah Mahmood Hasan and Barrister Arafat Hossain Khanon after media reports of the incident surfaced on February 22.
The High Court in a ruling asked why the inaction of government authorities concerned should not be declared illegal as they failed to protect the boy from public torture and also failure to take legal actions against the perpetrators.
