A Dhaka court on Monday recorded the confessional statement of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan bus driver Md Zubayer, in a case filed over the death of two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College in the road crash on the Airport Road on July 29.
Metropolitan Magistrate Golam Nabi recorded the statement after Detective Branch (DB) Inspector Qazi Shariful Islam, also investigating officer (IO) of the case, produced Zubayer before court with a plea to record his statement.
The court sent Zubayer to jail after recording his confessional statement.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kashob Roy Chowdhury sent another driver, Shohag Ali, and two bus helpers - Md Ripon and Enayet Hossain - to jail in the case.
All four accused were produced before the courts on completion of their seven-day remand in the case filed with Cantonment police station in Dhaka. The accused were placed on remand on August 6.
Earlier, another bus driver of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan, Masum Billah, and owner of the transports Md Shahadat Hossain gave their confessional statements in the case.
