A Comilla court has withdrawn a protection warrant and set March 28 for the bail hearing in a sabotage case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Comilla’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Mustain Billah of Fifth Cognizance Court issued the order on Wednesday following an appeal, said Khaleda’s lawyer Advocate Kaimul Haque Ringku.
According to case details, eight people were killed and 20 other injured in a bomb attack on a bus in Comilla’s Chouddagram on February 3, 2015 during a blockade by a BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Chouddagram Police Sub-Inspector Nuruzzaman filed the case against 77 people including BNP Chief Khaleda and four senior leaders.
Of the 77 accused, three died and five were dropped off the charge sheet.
Investigating Officer DB Inspector Firoz Hossain submitted the charge sheet to the Comilla court against 69 accused, including Khaleda.
