The agency claimed to have found involvement of the four accused in killing six persons, torturing 14 people and raping 2 women in Satkhira Sadar and Ashashuni Upazila during the 1971 Liberation War.
They are district Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Abdul Khaleq Mandol, 72, M Abdullah Al Baki alias Abdullahel Baki, 102, Khan Rokonuzzaman, 64, and Jahirul Islam alias Jahirul Haque alias Tikka Khan. Of them, Abdul Khaleq Mandol is in jail and rests are absconding.
All of them were involved with local razakar forces, the collaborator of Pakistani army during the war.
At a press conference Tuesday, agency’s Coordinator Abdul Hannan Khan said they started investigation in August, 2015 which was completed in February this year. The agency took accounts of 60 witnesses against them.
The four persons were involved with incidents of crimes against humanity in Betna River area of Ashashuni, Gobindapur, Faizullahpur, Dhulihor, Kathanda, Boikari and Achaipara villages.
Of the six charges, the first one says that on August 18, 1971, from the Betna River at Budhata under Ashashuni, razakars captured six marine commandos and shot two of them dead. The other four were taken to Diamond Hotel, the razakars’ district command office on Satkhira Sadar Road, and tortured brutally.
The second charge described abduction of killing of one Komoruddin Dhali the same day.
The third charge states that the razakars abducted one Sabdar Ali and his son Shahidul from Dhulihor Bazar. They were taken to Diamond Hotel and were never found again.
