The HC bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowchury and Justice JBM Hassan rejected it Sunday, reasoning that a case has already been lodged against him.
Supreme Court lawyer Md Mujibur Rahman filed the petition with the HC.
Nur Hossain Patwari, Haimchar upazila chairman in Chandpur, was sued on February 1 after a video footage that shows Nur walking on the students of Nilkamal Osmania High School during an award-giving ceremony on January 31, went viral on social media.
He was also suspended from the position of the upazila unit Awami League general secretary following his incongruous action that drew huge criticisms.
