According to a statement from the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha has told five other Supreme Court justices that he was going to resign. Instead, he filed a leave application and left for Australia.

The president listed the 11 major allegations against the Chief Justice to the judges.
Then on October 1, the five judges met to discuss the allegations. They had decided that if the Chief Justice could not refute the allegations, they would not work with him. They met with him that very morning, where SK Sinha could not provide any valid responses. The justices told him they would not work with him until the allegations were resolved.
In response, the Chief Justice said he would resign.
The statement continues that instead of resigning, SK Sinha filed a leave application to the president without informing the other judges, after telling them he was going to step down. This article was first published on Bangla Tribune
