ACC grills ex-DSCC chief revenue officer Yusuf

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated Yusuf Ali Sardar, former chief revenue officer of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), on various allegations of corruption, irregularities and amassing illegal wealth. 

Syed Nazrul Islam, assistant director of the ACC, questioned Yusuf at the commission’s headquarters on Tuesday, ACC Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee told Dhaka Tribune.

According an ACC report, Yusuf Ali Sardar manipulated tenders and embezzled a huge amount of money from the city corporation during his tenure as chief revenue officer. 

After primary investigation, the ACC made inquiries into Yusuf and some other DSCC officials in the last month over their alleged involvement in amassing illegal wealth through misuse of power, read the report. 

On May 17, DSCC mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposhhad terminated Asaduzzaman, additional chief engineer, and Yusuf Ali Sardar, acting chief revenue officer, on various charges.
