The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to investigate three councillors on corruption charges including possessing illegal assets and running casino business.
ACC Deputy Director (media) Pronab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Sunday.
The councillors are - Iqbal Hossain Titu of ward 12 of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Shafiqul Islam Sentu of ward 31 (Mohammadpur) and Mainul Haque Manju, ward 39 councillor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
According to the ACC, the anti-graft commission decided to investigate them based on reports published against them on various newspapers.
