The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested four former officials of the state-owned life insurance company Jiban Bima Corporation (JBC) for allegedly misappropriating Tk1.9 crore from company funds.
Former JBC manager Abdur Rob Mia, junior officer Firoz Alam and clerks Wahidur Rahman Manju and Delwar Hossain were arrested in Sylhet on Sunday.
“An ACC team nabbed them from Bagbari,” ACC Assistant Director Debobrata Mandal told the Dhaka Tribune.
On July 11 last year, JBC's Sylhet divisional office Manager Md Asaduzzaman accused the four of swindling Tk1.9 crore from the state-owned company in a case filed with the Kotwali police.
