Former Awami League lawmaker and filmstar Sarah Begum Kabari has submitted nomination form to participate in the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral race.
She filed the nomination form to Returning Officer Shah Alam at DNCC office around 3:35pm on Sunday.
After submitting nomination, Kabari said: "I have submitted the nomination paper with the blessing of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I have been associated with the cultural sector for a long time and if I am selected then the women will be empowered.”
Talking about withdrawal, she said: “If the prime minister asks me to do so, then I will think about it.”
