Update : 26 Feb 2015, 07:14 PM

Runa Khan who is about to etch her name in Dhallywood will be seen in Mrittika Gun’s  next venture Kalo Megher Bhela. A government funded project, the film is the adaptation of popular poet Nirmalendu Goon’s novel “Kalo Megher Bhela,” which has been dramatised by Faruk Hossain.

Runa took on the silver screen as a challenge, which led her to become irregular in her small screen appearances. She also has the lead role for another government-funded movie “Chitkini”.

“I will be playing a role of the protagonist Rosy in ‘Kalo Megher Bhela.’ I believe that these two movies will lift my career as I am playing strong roles” she confirms. “In ‘Chitkini’ which is centered on a widowed stone-breaker near Panchagar and her sufferings and hardships, and my character in ‘Kalo Megher Bhela’  is  also an influential one. I haven’t quite written off the small screen, but it is true I am working less in TV plays.”

Runs performed in a TV series “Boiree Batash,” directed by Jewel Mahmud, where she played a role of a woman leader.

While sharing her feelings about the role Runa said:  “I have worked this type of role for the first time. I think it is honourable to create awareness among the people about the establishment of women rights in our society. I am very selective while acting. This work is also something I’ve carefully considered.”

Runa is modelling for various commercials and also she is regularly seen in a TV series titled Ghomta on Banglavision.
