Ihtesham Kabir, renowned for his three decades of contribution to the world of photography, has recently inaugurated his solo photography exhibition titled “The Colours of Life” at Home n Décor in the capital.
Spectacular photographs are brightly presented here bringing out the colours of our lives.
Kabir aesthetically framed the lavish beauty of Bangladesh, especially the people and the nature. His photographs of flying birds, trees reaching out to wide sky, vibrant flowers, and playing children appear before us as the treasures of our country.
The artist shared his thoughts with the Dhaka Tribune: “I want to touch hearts through my photographs. When you wake up in the morning you see these pictures which will make you happy. We won’t realise that if we don’t come close to these photographs.”
“I take photos of people and nature. In nature, I especially like to photograph birds.”
While describing a photograph of a bird he said: “This bird was sitting on a fishing pole and surprisingly it let me get very close. All the photos here are very natural; basically there is no retouching or editing involved.”
Expressing his future plan with the photographs, Kabir said: “I am planning to bring out a book this year. It will be about people since the last three books were about nature.”
A photographer, writer and planter, Ihtesham Kabir has been photographing his native country since 1984. He has had several solo exhibitions in the USA.
Having worked as a software engineer in Silicon Valley for over two decades, he now lives in Bangladesh and writes photo-stories.
“The Colours of Life” inaugurated on January 31 will be on display till February 10 from 11am to 8pm everyday, except Wednesdays.
