The Armed Forces’ Pay Committee 2013 has submitted its recommendation to the finance minister, outlining Tk1 lakh as the maximum basic pay for the Armed Forces.
Committee Chairman Lieutenant General Anwar handed over the report to Finance minister AMA Muhith at his secretariat office on Thursday morning.
According to the recommendations, the minimum basic pay for Armed Forces members will be now Tk8,200 while the maximum pay would be Tk1 lakh, said the committee chief at a press conference on Thursday.
Although he mentioned that Tk8,200 has been fixed as the minimum basic pay for the Armed Forces members, the paper that was provided after the press briefing, showed that the minimum basic pay is Tk9,000.
While addressing the press, Anwar said: “Tk 8,200 basic pay for lowest grade soldier and Tk 80,000 for the rank and equivalent of a major general and Tk 88,000 for lieutenant general and equal. For a general and similar rank, the basic pay has been proposed at Tk 1 lakh.”
“We have taken recommendations from the gross root level organisations for salary and allowances, pensions and other facilities. Besides, the arm forces salary committee met national salary and pay commission several time in the last one year.”
“The committee recommended the vertical scale for the calculation of the salary for the junior commission officer and non commission officer and the salaries of major general and second lieutenant would be fixed with similarities with the national pay commission recommendations,” he said.
Besides, the salaries of the FLS officials and staffs estimates of the similar grades under “Armed Rorces Nursing Services 1952”. Special allowances has been considered for staffs and officials of arm forces like arm forces commanders, para commanders, para troopers and snipers.
Same rent allowance will give those who want to join remove areas of the country, he added.
The recommendation includes a total 16 grades for the Armed Forces.
