The woman who started moving three hours after she was declared dead, has died finally at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
This time DMCH authorities announced her dead after following some pathological tests around 4:30pm, confirmed DMCH Deputy Director Mushfiqur Rahman.
Earlier in the morning, a four-member probe committee was formed to investigate into how the woman was declared dead on Thursday.
The committee headed by Medicine department Professor Dr Enamul Karim has been asked to submit report within three working days.
"Action will be taken against the culprits on the basis of the probe report," DMCH Director Brig Gen Mustafizur Rahman said.
Suffering from malnutrition, the patient was picked up from the street in critical condition and brought to the hospital on December 2.
Earlier on Thursday afternoon, Dr Nilufa Nila, an honorary physician at DMCH, had declared her dead. A death-certificate was issued and a ward boy named Belal went to the morgue with the certificate.
Morgue attendants at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital came to pick up the dead woman’s body from a ward of the hospital when the “deceased” woman started moving her feet around 4pm on Thursday.
