Police detectives have detained 31 people in drives from different parts of Dhaka. General known as 'Oggyan Party', these gangs drug unsuspecting people and make away with their valuables.
A DMP official told the Dhaka Tribune that a special team had conducted the drives through Wednesday night and made the arrests.
The policemen also recovered huge amounts of sedatives from their possession.
Details regarding the drive will be disclosed at a press briefing later in the day, said the official.
