Customs intelligence officials have arrested a person with 24 gold bars weighing 2.8kg at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
The arrestee is Md Ozayer of Chandpur.
Director General of Customs Intelligence Moinul Khan said he was arrested from Green Channel area. The bars were found inside his shoe around 11:15am.
He said Ozayer arrived at the airport in a flight from Dubai and he has travelled to Dubai four times this year.
The estimated price of the bars are worth around Tk1.25 crore.
