Miscreants have shot a b-Kash agent and took away Tk4 lakh from his possession at Khilgaon in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Victim Asif Hossain Tutul, 24, has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after the incident took place at Goran tempo stand around 2:30pm.
Shipon, a shopkeeper of Goran who witnessed the incident said Tutul works as a supervisor of Al Jaz Trading, a local agent of bKash. He was on his way to deposit the money to a bank around 2:15pm when a group of muggers intercepted him in front of Shipon’s shop.
They wanted to snatch away the bag Tutul was carrying and as he barred, they open fired, he said.
Shipon rushed him to a local clinic where doctors asked him to take the victim to DMCH as his condition was critical.
DMCH doctors said Tutul received stray bullets in his head, back and chest.
Md Sirajul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Khilgaon police station said they heard about the incident.
He said: "Police team has been sent to DMCH to talk with the victim. Police will conduct raids to arrest the snatchers."
“We are still not sure about the amount. The owner of the agency will be quizzed,” he added.
