The Hajj flights for carrying Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will begin on August 27.
Meanwhile, a total of 98,762 people have registered themselves in order to perform Hajj.
However, only 1557 pilgrims will go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj under the government management while the rest will go under private management.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon disclosed the matter to the journalists after meeting regarding the government's Hajj preparation.
The minister said: “This year only Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi Airlines will be allowed to carry the Bangladeshi pilgrims.”
The Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry the pilgrims from August 27 till September 28 while Saudi Airlines will carry the pilgrims from September 1 to September 30.
The return flights will start from October 9 and carry on till November 17.
Menon said: “Last year, many people could not go for the Hajj because of the irregularities of the agent but such irregularities would not be tolerated this year.”
A total of 101,758 Bangladeshi hajis are expected to perform hajj this year as the Saudi Arabian authorities allowed Bangladesh to send pilgrims equivalent to this number.
