Internet connection has been disrupted due to cut off connectivity lines of International Terrestrial Cables (ITC) with India which are used as alternatives to the submarine cable.
A total of six lines have been cut off at Chandra of Gazipur at 3pm on Tuesday.
Sumon Ahmed Savir, Chief Strategic Officer of Fiber@Home Ltd, the first firm to have license of Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network from Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, has told the Dhaka Tribune.
The repairing work is underway and it will take two to three hours to get the internet connection or to get its full speed.
The subscribers who only use the ITC are now totally off-line and who use both ITC and the Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd (BSCCL) are getting the net connection but the speed is very slow.
However, the subscribers who are using local connections are not facing any problems.
