‘Sharing screen after more than a decade’

Abul Hayat and Suborna Mustafa’s telefilm “Manusher Mukh” will be aired today on Channel i at 2:40pm. The viewers will surely have a treat as the two seasoned actors who have been working in the TV industry from its early era and gave magical performances in a number of popular serials like “Ayomoy” and “Aj Robbar,” will be seen sharing the screen after a long break.

Abul Hayat told the Dhaka Tribune: “Our first work was a single-episode play ‘Idiot.’ The journey continued with some beautiful memories. I believe we are sharing screen after more than a decade. It is always a pleasure to work with a gifted actor like Suborna.”

He added: “I think our last work was Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Aj Robbar.’” In the comedy serial, Suborna and Abul Hayat appeared as a couple whereas in “Manusher Mukh,” they play the roles of daughter and father.

In the telefilm, Abul Hayat is a successful writer who also fought in the Liberation War. An immigrant of Canada, the writer comes to Bangladesh to visit his son’s grave in his village home. There, he comes across Suborna and discovers that she is his daughter.

The telefilm is based on Faridur Reza Sagar’s novel “Manusher Mukh” and dramatised by Arun Chowdhury.
