PM blames BNP for abductions, killings
BNP is responsible for the recent abductions and killings that are taking place throughout the country, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said.
“BNP have called for ambush attacks. It is in their nature. They are responsible for the secret killings throughout the country,” she said at a rally on Thursday.
Khaleda issues 'red alert'
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has issued an “organisational red alert” and has asked party activists throughout the country to prepare to move against the government.
“I am calling activists and leaders all over the country to prepare for movement. I am issuing an organisational red alert,” she said speaking at a rally on Thursday.

Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan Papon will sit in talks with Tigers' coach Shane Jurgensen regarding his resignation on Saturday.
Nazmul Hassan landed at Dhaka's Hajrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday and told the media about the meeting schedule.
BAU classes resume Sunday
Classes at Bangladesh Agricultural University will resume from Sunday, a month after a Chhatra League leader was beaten to death by his party mates at campus.
However, no forms of demonstrations and rallies will be be allowed, the authorities decided in a syndicate meeting held on Thursday, a press release said.
Narayanganj gets new SP
A new police superintendent has been appointed for Narayanganj in the backdrop of the recent agitation in the area concerning a spate of abductions in the area.
The new superintendent is Khandakar Muhid Uddin, police headquarters' Senior Information Officer Kamrul Ahsan told the Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.
Lawyers call hartal in Narayanganj
Narayanganj Jila Ainjibi Samiti has called a daylong hartal on Sunday protesting the abduction and killing of seven persons including lawyer Chandan Sarkar.
The lawyers declared the program from a rally held in front of bar auditorium in the district on Thursday.
Seven had been abducted from the district earlier. On Wednesday, police recovered the bodies of six people.
Bangladesh looks for MH370 after fresh claims
Bangladesh has sent two navy frigates to investigate claims that wreckage of the missing Malaysian Airlines plane were in the Bay of Bengal, reports CNN.
“As soon as they get there, they will search and verify the information,” Bangladesh navy intelligence Director Commodore Rashed Ali told the CNN.
