The move has been taken marking the one year anniversary of the collapse of the Rana Plaza building in Savar, said a press release issued by German Embassy in Dhaka.
According to the press note, the main purpose of the visit is to assess the situation in the RMG Sector and get information about the initiatives taken so far in this sector to improve the health and safety standards for the Bangladeshi workers.
The delegation will also meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Minister for Commerce Tofail Ahmed and other political leaders, said the press release.
It stated: “Moreover, the delegation will travel to Savar to visit survivors of the collapsed Rana Plaza building at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) which receives funding from German Development Cooperation. In addition, they will visit a couple of factories in Savar to get an impression of the working conditions of Bangladeshi workers.”
