The Bangladeshi government has strongly condemned and protested the killing of a teenage boy by an Indian Khasia group in the borders of Gwainghat upazila in Sylhet on Tuesday; two days after the three Bangladeshis were beaten to death in Tripura.
The Foreign Ministry has officially conveyed its strong protest to the Indian authorities on Wednesday, said a press release of the foreign ministry.
According to the press release, the Indian side has been requested for immediate handing over of the dead body, investigation into the incident and punishment to the person involved in the killing.
The Ministry also expressed deep concern at the successive incidents of killing of four Bangladesh nationals within a span of three days in the bordering areas by Indian civilians.
The Indian authorities have also been requested for greater awareness-raising efforts to sensitise and educate the Indian population in the bordering areas so that they do not take law into their own hands.
The teenage boy, Delwar Hossain, 18, has been shot dead by Indian Khasia group while collecting firewood in the border.
