US Ambassador Dan W Mozena has said no poverty and hunger would be seen in Bangladesh as the country was turning into a middle-income nation in the near future.
“Quality education and better treatment for all would be ensured side by side with the establishment of good governance through the society,” he said.
Mozena made the observation while exchanging views with district administration officials at the circuit house around 10am.
Research activities have been initiated in South Asia also in Bangladesh to ensure food security and good health for all, he added.
He paid a visit in Gaibandha district as he gave his word to late President Zillur Rahman to make tours in the 64-districts of Bangladesh.
“I knew many more things and acquired more knowledge about Bangladesh and its enriched culture after visiting different places out of Dhaka”, he said.
Earlier, a presentation on geographical location, education, economic, culture and history, communication, Industry and chars and the people of the Gaibandha district was displayed through a power point presentation for the envoy.
Deputy Commissioner M. Ehsan-E-Elahi, police super M. Mofazzel Hossain, additional deputy commissioner (General) Abu Bakar Siddique, additional deputy commissioner (Revenue) Kamal Uddin Biswas, and other officials of the embassy were present during the presentation.
