Celebrated actor Chanchal Chowdhury will be seen in drama series Chokher Bali on ETV tonight at 9:30pm. The talented actor is busy with his new ventures as always. His popularity on screen and theatre has never been unstable. For the major part of his career, he has carried his popularity and strived to fulfill expectations of his fans.
After successfully playing a multitude of versatile characters, he has elevated the expectations of his audience and kept them interested. Chanchal Chowdhury is a known perfectionist working in several drama serials and single episode dramas along with his regular theatre plays. Recently, Dhaka Tribune caught up with the actor:
What are you working on at present?
I am working on several drama serials and single episode plays. I have completed the shooting for single episode dramas, Mihazur Rahman’s Ekdin Kobir Shathe and Chayanika Chowdhury’s Sundorer Kachhe. In addition to those, I will be seen in drama series Bhodropara written by Brindabon Das and directed by Syed Shakil. I will also work on a series which is about health issues - a project of BBC and will be directed by Gias Uddin Selim.
Which one is your favourite?
All these plays features diversity in roles and exciting stories as I have a propensity to perform in good plays only and in good challenging roles. I have given my best possible output in these plays as I always take every role seriously and critically analyse them to portray it in a realistic manner. I prefer to be perfect in my each role to do justice with it.
What is your dream role?
I am very professional and thus give highest attention to each of my roles. So any part I choose to play is my dream role.
Will you work on any new films in the near future?
Yes, I will start working on M M kamal Raj’s next film Kanamachhi.
Are you still active on theatre?
Theatre is my passion and I still perform onstage regularly with my group Aranyak Natya Dal. As an actor, I groomed myself in theatre. Nowadays, because of business on-screen, I do not get that much time for working in new projects. I consider my performance in Che-er Cycle as one of my best works on stage so far. I am regular in the popular productions of the troupe including Shangkranti, Rarang, Mayur Singhason, Che-er Cycle and Ora Kadom Ali.
