Two more victims of the recent violence succumbed to their injuries adding numbers to the death toll of Jamaat-e-Islami atrocities and 18-party blockade.
Asma Khatun, 35, who was shot during a clash between law enforcers and Jamaat supporters in Joypurhat on Sunday, succumbed in Bogra.
Doctors at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College declared her dead around 11:30pm Tuesday night.
She was rushed to the Bogra hospital on Sunday with bullet wound on her abdomen. Asma Khatun became the fifth casualty of Joypurhat violence.
Bus driver Al Amin, 28, whose bus was torched in Gazipur on December 3, succumbed to burn injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital Wednesday morning.
The hospital’s Resident Surgeon Partha Shankar Pal said Al Amin breathed his last at 11:15am. “He had sustained 25% burn injuries.”
The Jamaat-e-Islami have been wreaking nationwide violence after their leader and war criminal Abdul Quader Molla was executed on December 12.
BNP-led 18-party alliance were waging nationwide agitation since October demanding polls in line with their demand for non-partisan government.
