The Election Commission has asked returning officers to be cautious when appointing officials to conduct the polls, in an attempt to keep the polls free from controversy.
Sunday, the EC issued two circulars directing the returning officers not to appoint controversial and partisan persons.
The circulars say if any candidate gives false information or hides any information in the affidavit copy of their submitted nomination paper, the returning officer will have to cancel his or her candidacy.
The commission has set up 37, 711 primary polling centres with 189,553 booths in which to cast votes.
It will appoint 37,711 presiding officers and 189,553 assistant presiding officers. There will need to be two polling officers for each polling booth.
The returning officers have already finalised the primary list of election officials. The EC will also appoint 20% more election officials.
The commission has asked the returning officers to appoint female election officials for female polling centres and booths. The EC will train these officials 20 days before the voting day.
Transfer order for Khulna returning officer The EC has sent a letter to the public administration ministry to transfer the returning officer of Khulna, Mesbah Uddin.
Earlier, the EC decided to delimitate the Khulna 3 constituency, originally comprising Daulatpur and Khalishpur. Two unions of the constituency have, however, been included in the Khulna 4 constituency. Mesbah, who is also the deputy commissioner, was disappointed and the matter was later taken to court.
The returning officer told the EC that the complexity of administration would increase if the two unions were not kept under the Khulna 3 constituency.
